Dear The Daring Deers Pt2

288 words

Mid 70's, the sun was out and smiling as bright as it ever been. It was my first day behind the wheel by myself. I was excited as I had just come back from White Marsh Mall. With a bag of clothes by my side, windows down, my favorite music blasting and the wind running across my face. In late summer of 2007, things could not have been better.

Going down route 47, coming to Eastern Blvd to go home, I was 5 minutes from home when I noticed a brown blob coming to my driver side. THUMP and a shove was what I felt. I was so surprised, I looked back at the mirror and I could not believe it. There was not one, but two deer! Blood flowing rapidly through my body, I had no intention to pull over and look at my car. I continued to drive and was nervous to check the damage while at the same time so excited to see if it was anything significant.

I arrive at my driveway, pulling up slower than usual. I got out of the car, took a deep breath and looked at my rear side panel. OMFG was all that ran through my head. There were 2 big dents near my gas tank cover. How can this happen to me!? What were the chances of 2 deer out at 3 in the afternoon? I so was nervous on what my parents were going to say, especially since it was in my first day of driving and also my car at the time was new. Regardless, I had to deal with it.

I slowly walked up to the door, took an even deeper breath and walked in.

He Hates Ducks

250 Words

You ever seen that one bird or squirrel that you wanted to chase? We all were once young and probably have seen a group of small animals that we just wanted to run after. My cousin Steven was one of these kids. We never thought that there could be a consequence for chasing that pigeon.

The story starts while my family members and I were at an asian restaurant in Columbia a few years ago. My cousin Steven happened to be there. The restaurant was near a small dock where there was this fairly large sized pond. The view was amazing; ocean blue water, trees that were as green as can be and we had the ducks… My cousin tried to chase after a duck. From the restaurant to the water, it was a downhill slope. As he was running after the duck, it got close to the water and the duck went in the pond. My cousin had trouble stopping so he lost his balance and control and fell right into the water. A stranger nearby was nice enough to go into the water and get him out. At first we saw it as a shocker but as we told the story to other people, it just got funny how he fell into the pond. His mom had always told him that one day he was going to get hurt. He didn’t really get hurt but being soaking wet for the rest of the day is just as bad I guess.

The moral of this story is to not tease animals. There will be one day where you will be all into it and not be able to notice what can happen to you. I could not think of a story with a better moral that was entertaining. I always like to talk about the day the ducks got my cousin.

Whats really good?

I felt like a moron. All I know was that it could’ve been prevented. In my junior year of high school, my friend and I found a wallet. It had a school ID card among other misc. items with no cash. We just ended up throwing it away. Long story short, somebody knew we found it, the school cops were informed of a missing wallet. After it was all said and done, my friend and I got suspended for 2 days because it counted as a theft since there was an card inside. It was most definitely not worth it.

What did high school have in store for me? That was all I could think about. My freshman year had to be the most fun I had in school since elementary. I was so trapped in the new way people did things. All the kids would just walk to classes, we had lockers, ID cards, and tons of security officers. The classes were such an upgrade in material for me. To me, everybody seemed to have grown up so fast because of the environment. It was a change that took a positive route so I can be ready.
